ABOUT

Hi, I'm Dipti, and I grew up in Sojitra, Gujarat, India for the first 13 years of my life before moving to Hoffman Estates, a northwest suburb of Chicago, Illinois. When I came to the United States, my family was unfamiliar with the middle school system, so I started high school instead. Initially, I was frustrated with my parents for not teaching me English in India, and I struggled with the language barrier. However, I now appreciate that my parents taught me Gujarati and Hindi, which allows me to fluently communicate with those who cannot speak English. It also keeps me connected to my cultural heritage and provides me with a sense of belonging and identity. Being proficient in these languages also creates opportunities for me to communicate and exchange culture with family, friends, and communities who speak them. Thanks to my background, I can effortlessly read, write, and speak these languages.

Now, I would like to pass this on to the next generation to  help preserve their cultural heritage and strengthen family bonds. It can also provide them with language skills that can be valuable for their personal and professional growth.
